Note: Participants will not be able to arrive early in Tonalli. Please check the reception hours for the group on Sunday, July 20, described on Section 3 below. Thank you for your understanding!

SECTION 2
PLACE AND DATE OF THE EVENT

The Seed of Life Workshop Level 1 will be held from July 20th (Sunday) to July 27th (Sunday) 2008, in the Tonalli Retreat Center, located in the city of Tenancingo in the State of Mexico, around two hours from Mexico City. The workshop will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday, July 20. It will end on Saturday, July 26, around 10:00pm (or later!). On Sunday, July 27, we will just have a farewell breakfast and all participants would have to leave the center around noon.

We're sorry, but it is not possible for participants to arrive late, depart early, or participate in only sections of the intensive. Thank you for your understanding!

SECTION 3
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
Since you will be traveling from another country, we highly recommend that you plan your arrival to Mexico City with one or two days in advance. This way you will have some time to relax and rest a little bit, because the departure to Tonalli by bus is scheduled for Sunday, July 20, very early in the morning. We beg you to read our suggestions carefully, because you will be visiting one of the largest cities in the world! Long distances and traffic jams are very common. However, if you plan your trip well, your stay will be pleasant because Mexico City also offers lots of enjoyable opportunities.

A special transportation service will be available for those who will come from other countries or cities and will cover the round trip Mexico City-Tonalli-Mexico City. We highly recommend that you take the special transportation, because Tonalli is located outside Tenancingo and it is not easy to get there on public transportation. (More details about this special service are provided on Section 4, below.) Please check the following suggestions to insure that your flight plans match the special transportation timetable:
ARRIVAL
If you have to arrive on July 20th, your flight should arrive 7:00am Mexico's time, the latest, because the airport is far away from the special transportation departure point. The autobus will be leaving from Reforma-Center area at 9:45am, sharp.

The arrival to Tonalli is scheduled for Sunday, July 20, between 10:00am and 12:00pm, Mexico's time. It is very important that the participants arrive on time, because we will complete some administrative and accommodation formalities. The special transportation service will be scheduled to arrive to Tonalli on time. Lunch will be at 2:00pm and the workshop will start at 4:00pm, sharp.

DEPARTURE
If you have to return to your country on Sunday, July 27, we suggest that you schedule your departure no earlier than 5:00pm because you have to be at the airport 3 hours in advance. There would be no problem if you schedule your departure for Monday, July 28, at any time.

The departure from Tonalli will be after breakfast on Sunday, July 27
. The special transportation service will take the group back to Mexico City at 11:00am and will be arriving in Reforma-Center area around 1-1:30pm.

If you have personal, work or flight obligations and have to leave Mexico on
July 27th (Sunday) and you cannot schedule a flight any later than 5:00pm, please take note that your transfer to Mexico City will be your own responsibility because there aren't many ways of public transportation available from Tenancingo. We will not be able to assist you with personal transportation.

SECTION 4
SPECIAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICE

The cost of the special transportation service will be paid separately from the workshop fee. This will allow us to rent a smaller bus if not too many participants are taking it. We will keep you informed (by e-mail) about the cost of this service and how you can pay for it. Generally, it is quite affordable -- between $20-30 USD round trip, depending upon the group size.

Note: Please tell us your transportation option in the Registration and Payment Form provided for this workshop.

The bus will leave from the National Auditorium (Auditorio Nacional) on Sunday, July 20. This is a very well known place and any taxicab can take you there without any problem. On Sunday, July 27, the bus will take the group back to the National Auditorium, where will be easy for you to take a taxicab to your hotel or to the airport. There is a taxi cab point located at the Auditorium esplanade and we highly recommend that you use it. For your own safety, please do not take taxi cabs in the street. The timetable will be as follows:

DEPARTURE FROM MEXICO CITY TO TONALLI - JULY 20th (SUNDAY)
The bus will arrive to the National Auditorium (Auditorio Nacional) esplanade, at 8:45am and will leave at 9:45am Mexico's time, sharp
. A responsible person that we trust will be in charge of the group. (This person will speak English). Please look for this person (he/she could be wearing a FOL T-shirt), who will check your name in a list and will tell you where to place your luggage. We recommend that you arrive to the departure point at 9:15am the latest. Please be on time! The bus will not wait.

Note: If you are not staying in a hotel or house near the Reforma-Center area (the area of departure), or if your flight arrives early to Mexico City on Sunday 20th, please consider that it will take you around an hour to get to the bus's departure point at the National Auditorium. There is not much traffic on Sunday mornings but Mexico City is a huge place and "you'll never know"! Besides, the Reforma-Center area is always "busy" since it is a very well known touristic and recreational place.
DEPARTURE FROM TONALLI TO MEXICO CITY - JULY 27th (SUNDAY)
The bus will arrive at Tonalli at 10:00am and will leave at 11:00am sharp and will take the group back to the National Auditorium in Mexico City (the trip will take around 2 hours)
. Again, if you plan to travel back to your country on that same day, be sure to schedule your flight not earlier than 5:00pm (17:00 hrs.) Mexico's time.

SECTION 5
YOUR STAY IN MEXICO CITY

To keep this Useful Guide concise and focused on the workshop logistics, you will find a Special Annex (with many details and recommendations for your transportation and staying in transit in Mexico City), at the end of this document.

SECTION 6
REGISTRATIONS AND PAYMENTS

Please see all the details about prices, payment options and registrations, provided in the General Menu for this workshop. We highly recommend that you complete your registration as soon as possible, because the group quota for this workshop is limited. The deadline for general registrations, is Friday, July 4, 2008.

SECTION 7
REQUIRED READING

The required reading information is provided in the General Menu for this workshop. Reading the articles by Ron Holt will help you greatly to understand his main lectures during the workshop!

SECTION 8
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE WORKSHOP

THE CENTER
Tonalli Retreat Center
is a very special place, designed for the kind of events like this workshop and other holistic courses. It is located in the mountains around 2 hours from Mexico City, in the city of Tenancingo, State of Mexico. Since the workshop will be held during Summer, we really expect to have very nice weather and dry sunny days during our stay in Tonalli. However, the weather in Mexico has been "unpredictable" during the last few years and therefore rain is a possibility. The nights may be cool, because we will be in the mountains.

Note: We will send you an email before your departure to let you know about the local weather conditions.

Tonalli is isolated from the city. It has gardens and is surrounded by hills and valleys. During the workshop, we will have a big carpeted room, an indoor dining room and tables outdoors. We also will have first aid services and be able to contact a doctor immediately if necessary.

LODGING
The Tonalli Retreat Center offers lodging in shared guest rooms (three or four persons per room). All rooms are provided with hot water and bathroom. Please note that we can not offer single occupancy rooms and that couples would have priority for double occupancy rooms.

Note:
Please tell us your roommate option in the Registration and Payment Form provided for this workshop.
THE FOOD
The food will be healthy and nutritional, basically natural, and served as a buffet. We could have white meat dishes like chicken (but there would always be options for vegetarians!). We will have two coffee breaks every day, consisting of vegetables or fresh fruit in the morning and cookies or bread for the evening. Beverages such as potable water, coffee and tea will be available 24 hours. You can bring a plastic bottle or container to take beverages to the classroom or to your room. If you eat any kind of special food, please add this information in your Registration and Payment Form. You can also bring special snacks like granola and energy bars, dried fruit, etc., in sealed packages (so you don't have problems at the airport customs).

Note about the water: Tonalli produces its own high quality purified drinking water from mountain springs. It is provided in all the facilities but you can also buy it in small and large bottles.

Additional Notes from Lyssa: The meal schedules in Mexico differ from what we are used to in the USA and Canada. Please be prepared to eat a regular breakfast in the morning. The main meal of the day is eaten in the afternoon, around 2:00pm. Then, late in the evening a light dinner is served.

Travelers to Mexico from the USA, Canada, and Europe are often challenged by new bacteria in the food and water. Most often, this bacteria isn't unhealthful, just different from what we are used to, and it can sometimes cause digestive discomfort. All the food served in Tonalli can easily be eaten, even the fresh fruit and vegetables. However, Ron and Lyssa strongly recommend that you bring some simple nutritional supplements that they have used with success for years. These products strengthen the intestinal environment and kill any unwanted foreign organisms. These specific products most likely must be ordered through your health care provider (such as a chiropractor), but if you search your health food stores, you can find products with the same ingredients:

Company: Metagenics
Products: Parex Intensive Care, Parex, or Ultra Parex

Company: Pure Body Institute of Beverly Hills
Product: Paracleanse #1

Primary ingredients of above products: black walnut hulls, wormwood, pumpkin seed, and grapefruit seed extract. You can find this mix of ingredients from other companies as well.

Also, bring along lots of acidophilus - a miracle supplement!

Most participants won't have any problems at all, so please don't worry! We have been giving workshops in Tonalli for years, with very few problems. These suggestions are given for those who have sensitive digestive systems or who would like to be extra careful.

TONALLI'S CONTACT INFORMATION AND PHONE CALLS
You can make long distance phone calls, but you will have to pay for them at the end of the workshop. Hiliana, our host, can inform you about the rates and will take care to collect the corresponding payments. You can also receive calls, but you will not be interrupted during the hours of work and collect calls will not be accepted. The telephone numbers of Tonalli are: dialing from Mexico 01 (714) 142.3461 and 62, and dialing from abroad +52 (714) 142.3461 and 62. Tonalli is a huge place and some times the people in charge are not in the office. Please ask who is calling you to be prepared to stay on line for as much time as possible. If you have a cellular phone that works in Mexico (you would have to check this with your service provider), you may bring it with you to make/receive your personal calls. Please note that there are no phones in the guest rooms.

WORK SCHEDULE AND SOME SPECIAL REQUESTS
The work we will be doing during the workshop will be exhausting and sometimes emotional and will require all of your dedication and concentration. In fact, one week is barely enough to undertake all the subjects we have to cover. For this reason, we ask you to be PUNCTUAL at the beginning of the working sessions and to pay attention to all the indications the trainers will give. Additionally, as Ron and Lyssa only speak English, we will have the translation and interpretation services of Javier López and the translation will consume much of the effective time of work. This means that each minute lost at the beginning or during the activities will be detrimental to the whole group. The working days will begin at 9:30 a.m. and there will be enough breaks to have some snacks and go to the bathroom, as well as to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please leave the classroom only if it is absolutely necessary.

The general hours of the workshop will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.every day, with meals served during that time and with enough breaks to take some snacks and go to the bathroom. However, because of the nature of the activities, it is possible that we may have some very late nights. Please be prepared for the unexpected!

Activities will include: lecture, meditation, exercises and outdoor work (including one main activity that will be held no matter the weather conditions!). Also included will be a morning exercise program of Korean-style yoga that some of you are familiar with from our past workshops.

During the workshop you will receive all the necessary information about the the schedule that will be held each day, and any other activity or subject we embrace. Please keep your questions for the sessions related to the subject offered each day. But also, we ask you not to hold on to any concerns or comments. Please share them with the whole group. This way we all are enriched by your comments!

The consumption of alcohol or "recreational drugs" during the workshop will not be allowed in any way. If you are under medication with a strict schedule or if you need special assistance of any kind, please tell us so we can serve you the best way possible. (You can provide this information on your Registration and Payment Form.)

WHAT TO BRING TO TONALLI?
Please check this list carefully so you can prepare your luggage. Most of the things we mention here are essential.

1.- Even though Hiliana (our host) can bring some requests from the closest city and that Tonalli has a little store where they sell some "basics", we ask you to bring with you any personal belongings you are used to: from tooth brush, paste, hair dryer and your personal soap and shampoo, to any medication you can be taking. To females we ask you to be prepared for "special days"!

2.- We ask you to bring loose and comfortable clothes, cotton materials preferably. T-shirts, and sports clothing are ideal. Remember that we will be exercising everyday, so please bring enough change of clothes. Although the weather in Tonalli is very nice all year, the climate in Mexico has been "unpredictable" lately. For this reason and because we will have outdoors activities, bring with you clothes to keep you warm (like a jacket and/or sweater) and to protect you from the rain (like a poncho or windbreaker.) Also bring enough socks (cotton made are perfect, since they are thick and thermal) and warm shoes. Tonalli doesn't provide the service of laundry and even though you can wash some clothes, we suggest that you bring enough clothes for the whole week.

Since we are going to have morning exercise sessions of Korean-style yoga, we suggest you to bring some additional loose sports clothing. There will be a break after these morning exercise sessions to take a quick shower and to change clothes. This will allow you to be comfortable for the rest of the day!

3.- Also bring footwear that would be easy to put on and take off for the workshop sessions, such as sandals or clogs. (We cannot enter the classroom with shoes). You can also bring tennis shoes or warm shoes in case the weather changes and for outdoors activities. In case we have some hot hours during the day, bring your bathing suit as well as a hat, sunglasses and sun block for the outside activities.

4.- Tonalli provides sheets, thick blankets, and a small towel for each person.
However, we suggest that you bring your favorite towel and/or pillow if it is really necessary for you. We also strongly recommend that you bring an alarm clock, because they are not provided in the room.

5.- As we stated before, the rooms at Tonalli are shared in groups, and couples will have priority for double occupancy.
We ask that you have an agreement with your roommates about the use of the room and to avoid any personal habit that could cause conflict. As a basic principle of courtesy, avoid smoking inside the rooms (unless your roommates accept it).

6. - There will be no junk food served! As mentioned the food is very clean and healthy. If you are not used to such a healthy diet, there is a small store where you can buy chocolate and some candy, but as a whole, be prepared for a healthy environment!

WHAT TO BRING FOR THE CLASSROOOM?

1.- In addition to the usual workshop items such as notebook, pen and clip board, please do not forget to bring your own geometry kit: A compass, ruler, protractor, eraser and pencil. You can also bring color pencils, crayons and/or pens. We are sorry but it is PROHIBITED TO RECORD during the workshop sessions. Also bring a blindfold or dark cloth that is long enough to cover your eyes (you will need it for some exercises).

2.- Tonalli has enough chairs and cushions for all, but if you want, you can bring your own meditation cushion, zafu or bench. We will also have a special altar in the classroom, so we ask you to bring an object of high personal value (quartz, jewelry, photographs, etc.) to put it there the whole week to be charged with positive energy.

3.- The classroom will be a very special place during the workshop and for this reason we ask you to consider it as a sacred space and respect it. It is prohibited to smoke or bring drinks and food in the classroom. If you wish to bring water, coffee or tea, please bring it in a closed container such as a plastic bottle. We also ask you to bring with you only those things that are essential for work. Tonalli is a safe place, so you can leave your purse or wallet or any personal belonging of value in the dormitory.

4.- An open and willing heart, a wide smile and a cooperative, friendly and responsible attitude are totally essential!!

If we forgot something, please include it in your list! And, if you have any doubt or worry concerning the information we have provided, please don't hesitate to communicate with us.

We hope to hear from you soon and we trust your Masters and Light Beings will indicate the way to follow your path. In advance thank you for your effort and dedication to complete the requirements!

SPECIAL ANNEX
SUGGESTIONS FOR LODGING IN TRANSIT
AND TRANSPORTATION IN MEXICO CITY
SECTION A
LODGING OPTIONS IN MEXICO CITY
We are sorry, but LADO cannot work on reservations because Yvette will be very busy with the workshop preparations. Therefore, you will be entirely responsible for your flight and hotel reservations in Mexico City.

Any Travel Agency in your country can recommend good hotels in Mexico City, but be sure to ask for hotels in the Reforma-Center area, because it is a well-known tourist area. Things will be easier especially if you don't speak Spanish. Many public places, museums, shops, hotels, etc., located at Reforma-Center area are prepared to attend foreign visitors. Even policeman are bilingual!
To know more about Reforma-Center area, please check: http://www.mexicocity.com.mx/reform.html

For your own safety, please be sure to get reservations in well-known hotels. LADO recommends: Maria Isabel-Sheraton, Camino Real, President and Bristol. Any taxicab from the airport can take you to these hotels. But if you don't want to pay high hotel fees, LADO recommends three good places located very close to Reforma Center area. Below you will find all the detail information you will need to make your reservations. Please be sure to make your reservations well in advance!
CASA GONZALEZ
This is a small guest house where many FOL facilitators and students have stayed in the past. They do not offer all the facilities offered by regular hotels, but it is a nice and safe place to stay. For example: They DO NOT accept Credit Card payments (only US Dollars or Mexican Pesos in cash and Traveler's Checks) and for security reasons, they close doors at 11:00pm every day. They serve meals also, but you will have to ask the manager about schedules. They offer double and triple occuppancy rooms and single rooms when available. Their prices are really cheap.

The people at the front desk do not speak English, but you can make your reservations by sending an e-mail or fax to Casa González manager: Mr. Jorge Ortíz. His e-mail: j_ortiz_moore@hotmail.com He speaks English and will be glad to attend you. (In this specific case, you can tell him that you are coming to Mexico to take a workshop from Flower of Life organized by Yvette Báez). Casa González phone number is: +52 (55) 5514.3302 dialing from abroad and 5514.3302 dialing from Mexico City. Fax number: +52 (55) 5511.0702 dialing from abroad and 5511.0702 dialing from Mexico City.

If you choose this lodging option, please print the following instructions in Spanish and give them to the taxi driver. (This is the guest house location.)
Casa Gonzalez - Rio Sena #69 (entre Rio Lerma y Rio Panuco, atrás de la Embajada Americana en Reforma).
MARIA CRISTINA HOTEL
This is a very good hotel for the prices they charge and it is located one block away from Reforma Avenue. FOL facilitators and students have also stayed there. It has all the facilities and a good restaurant. They offer single, double and triple occupancy rooms. They accept Credit Card and cash payments in US Dollars or Mexican Pesos. The staff speaks English, so you can make your reservations by calling or sending a fax (however, we highly recommend you to call.) The hotel's phone number is: +52 (55) 5566.9688 dialing from abroad and 5566.9688 dialing from Mexico City. Fax number: +52 (55) 5566.9194 dialing from abroad and 5566.9194 dialing from Mexico City.

If you choose this lodging option, please print the following instructions in Spanish and give them to the taxi driver. (This is the guest house location.)
Hotel María Cristina - Río Lerma #31 (entre Río Amazonas y Río Neva, atrás de la Embajada Americana en Reforma).
MONEDA HOSTEL (HOSTAL MONEDA)
Located in the historical downtown of Mexico City (a few minutes away from the Reforma Center area.) The building itself is a “jewel” of the mexican colonial architecture and their prices are incredibly low. However, please consider that all rooms are shared (men and women separately) because the place was created for students and "back-packers." Please take a look at: http://www.hostalmoneda.com.mx You can make your reservations “on line” and you can even get detailed information of how to get there from Mexico City Airport. We highly recommend that you read the “Frequently Asked Questions” section of their page – it has lots of “handy” information about Mexico City!

SECTION B
TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS IN MEXICO CITY

For your convenience and personal safety, please check our suggestions for safe transportation options for your arrival, departure and staying in transit in Mexico City.

MEXICO CITY AIRPORT TAXICAB SERVICE
Mexico City Airport has a good taxicab service that can take you to any place in the city. There are places to request and to pay for this service in advance, both inside and right outside the International Arrival Gate area (still inside the airport building). For your own safety, use only this service when you arrive.
TAXICAB SERVICE IN GENERAL
Never take a taxicab in the street --unless you don't have another option. Always ask for a taxicab at your hotel's desk. If you have to take a taxicab in the street, be sure to stop the green and white ones or the red and white ones and these must have the driver's ID (with a picture on it) visible.
PAYING FOR A TAXICAB SERVICE
You won't have problems to pay for your taxi cab service at the airport (in Mexican Pesos or USD). But for other services, we highly recommend to have Mexican Pesos in cash available. You can buy them at the airport at your arrival. To have $20, $50 and/or $100 peso bills would be best. $200 peso bills are fine also. But definitely, the taxi driver could have problems to give you cash back if you pay with a $500 bill (the highest denomination bill in Mexico).

SECTION C
OTHER USEFUL TIPS FOR YOUR STAY IN MEXICO CITY

MONEY EXCHANGE
For money exchange, we recommend that you buy Pesos at the airport. There are 24 hr. exchange houses and the rates offered there are the best. (The rates at the hotels are very poor.) If you change $150 USD at your arrival, you will have enough Pesos to pay for your taxi rides and other basic personal expenses. Before you leave, you can also change your Pesos back to any foreign currency there at the airport.

TIPS
Tips for restaurants in Mexico are 10% and are not included in the bill. (Just leave the tip on the table.) For other services such as skycaps at the airport or bellboys at the hotels, $5 to $10 USD will be just fine.
